Bellagio has the perfect location in Lake Como in order to visit other places around the lake. It is very picturesque and unique. It is much better than Como to stay during your trip since it's not a big town but rather a very beautiful village. The only problem is the road leading there, which is rather narrow, but this is the case for the whole of Lake Como. The alternative is moving around by boat.

The restaurants and bars and narrow lanes were great.
The restaurants and bars and narrow lanes were great. The lanes are mostly steep climbs so be fit or stop in a bar half way! Just out of town is the Alle Darsene di Loppia, very good restaurant.
Cars are generally excluded from the town centre so if you have your own car you need to make sure you can get to your accommodation. And if you have a car you need to be bold when driving, because the local Italians can fit a car through a tiny gap, at high speed, and you must do the same to get anywhere. Trust them and enjoy the ride!
The ferry trips around Lake Como were great - you can explore a lot of beautiful old towns from the ferry.

We loved Bellagio!
We loved Bellagio! we also spent a day in Varenna (via ferry) - quieter, but just as charming. Take the tour of the Melza Villa there (the interior plus gardens). Note that for all of the Villa tours, all accessible by public ferry, order your tickets well in advance because day of they will all be sold out. Bellagio and Varenna are similar in that both are built into the side of an Alp, and the "cross streets" all require navigating a hundred or more stairs. Folks who live there don't seem to notice, but in the hot sun we were sure stopping every ten stairs to rest. We just randomly picked "cute" restaurants and enjoyed every one.

Bellagio has beautiful eateries, easy to get to other towns by ferry, gorgeous part of Lake Como. Plenty to do...
Be prepared for expensive eateries, drinks, gifts, trinkets. The business owners are really upping the prices on everything including bottled water....

Bellagio is one of the most popular tourist destinations on...
Bellagio is one of the most popular tourist destinations on Lake Como, but very expensive re restaurants etc. It is a very attractive place on the lake. Very crowded in the town / tourist areas. We have very low key, energetic holidays. We hired high quality Bianchi bikes from BikeItBellagio and enjoyed some wonderful long distance riding, discovering many small attractive towns further north and around Lake Lugarno that are just as attractive, good holiday destinations, less crowded and less expensive. We self catered breakfast & dinner from excellent supermarkets and the pizzaria, but ate at some wonderful local Italian caffeterias around the lake for lunches, and met some lovely locals. Locals in Bellagio town not friendly, I suspect because they are exhausted by loud, demanding, wealthy tourists.
We visited 4 cities in Italy and Bellagio was our last destination and charming Bellagio offered the best BREAKFAST experience! We are so glad we included the breakfast option because it was DELICIOUS! The hospitality from all of the staff was absolutely warming and welcoming and beyond helpful. They helped guide us to different spots to eat, which villas to take, the ferry schedules and helped us schedule a taxi to the drop off location. We were so happy with our stay. Thank you to the entire staff, you made our trip more lovely!
The hotel is very cosy, with only a few rooms and a lovely garden with a pool outside. The hostess is super friendly, she gave us tips on what to do in Bellagio as well as recommended day trips for us to do around lake como. She was very knowledgeable and helped us a lot, especially on which attraction is open or closed each day and how to get there. We didn’t book breakfast because we were on a hurry in the morning, but it looked great, as it’s served in the garden with an amazing view of lake como.
Seta hotel was wonderful! The property is nicely located in the center of town. Easy walking distance to shopping and dining. The restaurant on property is a bonus, especially since breakfast is provided. The food is great! The staff is also very nice and helpful. Thank you to Kayleigh (sp?) at front desk for all her help in guiding us when we needed. We cannot wait to come back and stay again. Lake Como - Bellagio is a dream of a place.
Stunning location on the lake in the beautiful village of Bellagio. Pool area, sandy “beach,” and diving platform out in the lake were a lot of fun. Gorgeous view of Lake Como. Spent long days enjoying the sunshine.
Very efficient front desk staff and smart concierges were helpful in making reservations for dinners and excursions. Friendly staff in the breakfast room in the mornings.
Luisa's House Bellagio was such a wonderful time and location in the heart of Lake Como! Gaia was kind enough to meet us at the door and exchange the keys after a long day of travel. Her restaurant recommendation was amazing the food was delicious and the lift their was even better!! I will definitely be recommending Luisa's House to all my friends and family when visiting Lake Como.
The most wonderful place to stay. The accommodation was definitely worth visiting and the host Bruno was beyond amazing and helpful as I have rarely experienced before. The room was beautiful decorated with paintings and very clean.
At the same time it was very affordable and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who’s visiting Bellagio at Lake Como in Italy.
It had a elevator to access upper floors, and Air Conditioning!
Very bright and clean, with everything we needed (except shampoo). Bed was comfortable.
Access to a garden to relax or picnic, with a view of Bellagio and Lake Como. (A Short climb up a path )
We were met by Ida, and explained everything.
Information provided regarding places to eat and shop near by.
Meet and greet by owner! Alberto gave us all the tips and maps of the area upon arrival. They had stocked the kitchen with food, coffee, water and everything you need to start your trip. Their house was immaculent and clean and had an amazing view of Lake Como. The house was beautiful and the neighborhood bakery and restaurants were wonderful.
Well located in Bellagio, next to beautiful Il Giardini di Villa Melzi d’Erli which you can access for free by showing your room key; a great bonus as it’s the shortcut to downtown Bellagio and a must-see. Apartment (we had a studio) is spacious. Very quiet surroundings. View of lake Como and the gardens. Free private parking.
Amazing location in Bellagio. It was close to everything but still far away from main crowds.
We did not really feel like going out as the property was everything we wanted in Lake Como.
The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and kitchen was well appointed for cooking. The rooms were cleaned daily.
I had a non refundable reservation and couldn’t make it on the scheduled date. At hotel Bellagio they would let me take another date instead. I couldn’t go anyway, but they couldn’t have been more flexible and nice handling the situation. So I will book Bellagio the next time I go to Lake Como.
Casa Carolina was expectacular! Location, Price, Clean, Comfortable & Cosy with great views of mountains and Lake Como. This place made us feel right at home for three days, the drive to Main Bellagio was a 5 -10 min drive.
I definitely would stay here again.
The hotel location is great to stay in Bellagio & visit the lake Como. The staff is really nice and helpful ! The room itself is also really nice with modern design. The breakfast is great
beautiful lake como view from the terrace. very clean.
breakfast was good.
drive up to the hotel from como city was a bit stressful due to narrow roads. bellagio is walkable distance
Bellagio is by far the best place to stay along Lake Como. Really amazing location right in city centre. Very comfortable bed. Host was absolutely lovely and extremely helpful
Excellent location in the centre of Bellagio, close to bus stop & ferries - also restaurants were all walking distance. Excellent breakfast. We couldn't fault this hotel.
Family run hotel and it shows. The rooftop terrace has one of the best views of the sunset on lake como and they host guests for drinks every evening to watch it. Magical.
