Trying to do Berlin on a budget? Well when it comes to food, that won’t be a problem. We created this guide to delicious, cheap eats in Berlin, just for you!
If you’re looking for fine-dining recommendations, this is not the guide for you. But if you’re down for delicious eateries with fun, casual atmospheres, take notes! In Berlin, you can eat like royalty without making all your hard-earned money disappear into thin air. And there’s no catch either. All you have to do is follow this guide!
Without any further ado, we give you our guide to the best cheap eats in Berlin!
Cheap eats in Charlottenburg: Vietnamese food
The Middle Eastern population isn’t the only prominent one in Berlin, though no surprise there. Plenty of Asian people have also moved in, especially the Vietnamese. Because of this, Vietnamese cuisine has become a staple throughout Berlin. The best place to find cheap Vietnamese food? The answer is SaiGon-Today all the way! When you come in, expect to see super authentic Vietnamese cuisine, and don’t forget to try the pho!
Cheap eats in Friedrichshain: German food
Germany is the land of the schnitzel. Whether you hate it, love it, or have never had it, I highly recommend that you try the schnitzel at Scheers Schnitzel. This place is right next to the East Side Gallery – which you have to see anyway – so take the short walk to try this place out afterward! Make sure you pair your schnitzel with a great German beer, and I promise you’ll be thanking me later! Scheers Schnitzel is the best option for cheap eats in Berlin if you want authenticity, without compromising on time!
Cheap eats in Neukölln: Lebanese food
If you haven’t figured it out yet, Berlin has a huge Middle Eastern population – most evident in the city’s cuisine. For some of the best, cheapest, and freshest Lebanese food the city has to offer, visit Neukölln’s Al-Andalos. There are plenty of places that serve similar food, but they can’t match the quality of this place. And very rarely can they match the price!
Cheap eats in Berlin: Currywurst
How could we start our guide to cheap eats in Berlin with anything other than Berlin’s famous creation? The magnificent currywurst! Indian spices and German sausages are two of my favorites, so this combination is perfection if you ask me. There are plenty of spots to order currywurst, but one of the best is Curry 66. When looking for a fine currywurst establishment, you want rich sausage, lots of curry, and quality ingredients; this place takes care of all of that, and it’s cheap! Plus, you get French fries on the side.
Cheap eats in Berlin Mitte: Pizza
Of course, pizza is originally Italian, but it’s basically universal nowadays. And who doesn’t love a good slice of pizza here and there? The best spot in Berlin for cheap, mind-blowing pizza is La Pausa. With its gigantic pizza slices, a variety of awesome drinks, chill atmosphere, and high-quality ingredients, you can’t go wrong. You can easily have a fantastic meal at La Pausa for under 10 euros. And by the way, I recommend the potato pizza – it was like nothing I’ve ever tasted before!
Cheap eats in Prenzlauer Berg: Indian food
While traveling through Europe, we always find ourselves craving a little more spice, so Indian food is a nice change of pace! Khushi is our favorite Indian place in Berlin, and we guarantee you’ll love it too. While Khushi is the most expensive restaurant on this list of cheap eats in Berlin, it’s worth the few extra euros. When you go, make sure to order the shahi korma, a lamb dish that’s super tender, spicy, and extra delicious!
Cheap eats in Kreuzberg: Döner
Our list of cheap eats in Berlin wouldn’t be complete without a döner joint. The city has plenty of döner on every corner, but that doesn’t mean they’re all equal. Döner is sort of the unofficial food of Berlin, due to its Turkish population which nears 100,000. With that many Turkish people, you better believe that Berlin is home to some great döner joints. One of the cheapest, freshest döner around can be found at Imren Grill. Imren Grill’s Turkish spices, freshness, and price put them well ahead of the rest of the competition!
The best cheap eats in Berlin
On a tight budget or not, all of these dining options are wildly satisfying. Saving heaps of money on super delicious food is just a bonus!

Wow Al Andalos looks amazing. I can’t wait to go to Berlin!
Definitely! You will love it!
Mmmm, everything looks delicious! I always thought Berlin was a rather expensive city, but I guess you can find cheap eats if you look for them! Thanks for sharing!
Really?! Hmmmm, we actually have found Berlin to be one of the most affordable cities in Europe. From the food to the hotels to the attractions. It’s nowhere near Zurich, Paris, or Stockholm – which are definitely some of the most expensive – and we’d say it’s more (or just as) affordable than (as) less expensive cities such as Amsterdam or Madrid. Either way, yep! There are always deals, you just have to look for ’em!
It does look delicious !
Döner are definitely the best !!! I remember when I lived there I used to eat a Döner once a week haha though I was shocked at the begining because I was soooo different from the one we have in France.
Now I DEFINITELY need to see (and taste haha) Berlin !
Love this article. :)

Definitely! Thanks! :)
I remember the food being really delicious in Berlin although not too much aimed at vegetarians (like me) I remember having a lot of potato based dishes! ;-)
So many potatoes!!! But that’s true, the Germans definitely like their meat!
I love all the different types of cuisine Berlin has, everything sounds delicious! I haven’t tried currywurst in Europe, but there is a great place here in Toronto that serves an amazing meat or vegetarian option. I definitely wold love to visit Berlin and try everything there!

It’s awesome that you have a currywurst place close to home! I’ve never noticed any in Southern California, but admittedly, I haven’t looked either. I know you’re vegetarian for the most part, so it’s cool that they have a veggie currywurst there for you!
Anyway, yes go to Berlin and try EVERYTHING! :)
Great post! I’ve never been to Berlin but would love to go :)
