Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Where will you and your special someone spend the holiday?
Whether you’re ready to book a spontaneous trip or you’re planning to snuggle up at home, it’s time to feel the love! Near and far, here are some of our favorite destinations, perfect for romantic getaways with the one you love.
10 Romantic Getaways for Valentine’s Day

Ronda, Spain
If you’ve ever been to Southern Spain, you know just how romantic it can be.
Rocky coastlines, green mountainous landscapes, and white-washed villages scatter the land of Andalucía, making it one of the world’s most beautiful regions. But Ronda is the perfect representation of all that is beautiful about Andalucía.
Imagine standing atop Ronda’s 18th-century bridge with your loved one, listening as a waterfall crashes below you into a pool of turquoise, watching the sky turn pink over the Genal Valley’s rolling hills. Ronda’s good looks, paired with some Spanish red wine, will make for the most romantic of Valentine’s Days!

New York City, USA
Manhattan probably isn’t one of the first destinations you’d think of when brainstorming romantic destinations, but it actually is just that!
Think about it.
In New York City, you have luxurious hotels, world-class dining options, horse-drawn carriage rides through Central Park, shows on Broadway, and strolls through the bright city streets, all covered in a blanket of snow. What could be better?

Prague & Český Krumlov, Czech Republic
If there were just one place in the world to be in love, Prague would probably be it. Almost too magical and too beautiful to be true, Prague is perfect for a romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day. Stunning opera performances, highly underrated Czech wines, and views of a thousand Gothic spires await in Prague.
Also, just three hours south of Prague lies a place we recently proclaimed Europe’s most romantic town: Český Krumlov. Like a page from a fairytale, Český Krumlov is a medieval town of castles, cobblestone roads, winding waterways, and snow-covered red rooftops. A trip to these two medieval gems sounds like romance at its finest, right?

Tuscany, Italy
Few places are quite as romantic as Tuscany.
From its historic cobblestone streets and beautiful cathedrals, to the fresh pasta and fine red wine, Tuscany is another contender for a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway.
While there, you two lovebirds will witness Tuscany’s lush rolling hills of green, smell the freshly pressed olive oil that fills the air, and savor the Chianti region’s best wines while strolling through ancient vineyards. Che romantico!

Bali, Indonesia
If your romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day needs a little bit of everything – rich culture, nice beaches, luxurious resorts, lush rainforests, crazy monkeys, and good waves – consider Bali!
Whether in Uluwatu or Nusa Dua, you and your loved one will never feel happier or more at peace.
Plus, Balinese couple’s massages in your resort’s open-air spa will be the most relaxing experience ever.

Carmel-by-the-Sea & Big Sur, USA
Somewhere in between Los Angeles and San Francisco lies a sleepy, little town known as Carmel-by-the-Sea. It was once a haven for artists and those who wished to escape the commotion of the big cities. As such, the sea, cozy restaurants, and intimate oceanfront cottages make Carmel-by-the-Sea one of the best romantic getaways for Valentine’s Day.
Plus, Big Sur is under an hour away, for more beautifully untamed landscapes, rocky beaches, and romantic glamping (glamorous camping) sites!

Hopkins, Belize
If you and yours want to kick back and relax a little bit, head to Hopkins, Belize!
About two hours from Belize City, you’ll find a Belizean beachfront village, rich in culture, seafood, rainforests, and relaxation.
In Hopkins, time stands still and nature remains untouched, and the locals are some of the most jovial people you’ll ever encounter. For a tropical Valentine’s Day getaway, Hopkins is just the place!

San Miguel de Allende/Jiuguang Wang
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
Tucked away in the state of Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende has remained nearly untouched since the Spanish conquest.
Today, San Miguel de Allende is a historic, cultural center that offers authentic Mexican food and friendly locals; but at the same time, it’s small enough to feel secluded from the rest of the world.
In San Miguel de Allende, you’ll fall in love with the city’s bright colonial buildings and endless greenery.

San Francisco, USA
The unofficial capital of Northern California is one of the most romantic cities in the United States.
With its world-class restaurants, gorgeous mountain and ocean views, an almost-perpetual blanket of fog, and world-famous wine regions and national parks nearby, there’s just no place like San Francisco!

Paris, France
And of course, Paris.
Because it wouldn’t be right to leave the City of Love off the list of romantic getaways for Valentine’s Day!
For a romantic Valentine’s Day date, grab a baguette and a bottle of French wine for a picnic lunch under the Eiffel Tower. There will be no shortage of romantic dinners in Paris, either, with almost 80 Michelin-starred restaurants.
Paris’s bright lights, fine wines, classy architecture, and love-locked bridges will surely make your romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day truly special.

Thank you! It definitely is! :)
Lisbon is so romantic to me. The streets are absolutely beautiful and everyone there is so in love with life and each other. You can feel it all around, I swear. As corny as that sounds! Great list.
We’ve heard so many great things about Lisbon, but have yet to make it there! Hopefully one day soon we will! Thanks for sharing! :)
Great places! Want to go there! Thanks for sharing!

The most romantic place I’ve ever been to, is as surprising as it is Amsterdam !!!!
I also love Paris, but since I live there it’s not so much a place for romantic escapade :)
Great article ! :) Can’t wait to see your Bucket List as well.

It’s not that surprising really! Amsterdam’s canals are so beautiful, and when it’s tulip season, oh my goodness is it gorgeous! And yeah, you’re probably used to Paris by now, but for non-Parisians, your city is a real treat. Thanks for commenting! :)
Alsooo, check your e-mail I’m gonna send you as promised what you should eat and see in Paris ! :)
Got it! Thank you so much!!! :)
San Fran looks incredible as do all these other places. Need to find someone to enjoy these places!

Spain and Belize are on my bucket list! Would love to go to any of these places for valentines day :)
Right?! Those are two super amazing countries – you’d love em! :)
We visited Big Sur a couple of years ago and loved it so much! It was absolutely gorgeous, and I totally agree that it’s a romantic place for a getaway for Valentine’s Day. I also can’t wait to visit Prague later this year since it’s supposed to be so beautiful and romantic!
You will love Prague! What time of year are you visiting? Really, it doesn’t even matter because it’s magical at any time! :)
Lovely romantic post! <3
Our most romantic destination has been the Andaman Islands so far. There is an amazing opportunity to have a romantic candlelight dinner at the beach! Please, read our tip number 14: https://ikilomalla.fi/havelock/
You have very nice blog! :)

I’ve heard the Andaman Islands are beautiful. We’ve visited Thai islands in the Andaman Sea and they were all gorgeous, and super romantic too… so I can only imagine what that’d be like! Thanks for sharing! :)
Love all these options! I’ve been to some of them (with and without my boyfriend) and they are indeed romantic! I really want to make it to Ronda, Bali, and Spain. Unfortunately I will probably not be in the same city as my bf this year but a girl can dream lol. Are you guys planning a Vday trip this year?
Characters & Carry-ons
Usually we spend Valentine’s Day together in NYC, but this year it won’t be possible! Maybe we’ll have to pretend it’s Valentine’s Day at the end of February when Mauricio comes back to SoCal for a school break! :)
Great list; I would have to agree but I guess if it were up to me I would definitely add Maui to the mix. :)
Really? I’ve heard mixed reviews about Hawaii, but haven’t been there yet myself. Mauricio has though. Some people say it’s super overrated, but some people love it. Would love to see it for myself some day.

Oh I love these ideas! We will be spending Valentine’s Day (ie my favorite holiday!;-) in NYC–going to a speakeasy bar for champagne and dessert. I can’t wait!
I wish we’d be in NYC again for V-day this year! It’s my favorite! :)
